Challenge 97 No Strings

This week Diva Laura's challenge is to design a tile using no string.  I started my tile at the bottom left hand cornor with Socc and from there I drew in Aura-Leah's.  Looking at the tile I thought, the Zingers would look great with the leafy-like Aura-Leah's and then I added a few fescu and I was finished.  I like the way the tile turned out and I do like working without a string most of the time.  The strings sometimes feels inhibiting, more freedom and flow without the string.

I love how the Socc looks like a "tangled" root system

It turned out fabulous. I love it.

I agree that the no string concept allows freedom....and your freedom led you into a beautiful and completely perfect design!

Nice job. I agree that not using a string can be freeing, but may depend on how well can conceptualize things before hand. Sometimes that is difficult. Think whether it is a string or that first tangle, just need a place to start.

Shading on Socc is outstanding looks like little bundles of yarn weaved in and out of each other.

I love the way you moved from the denser tangles in the lower right to the most delicate of airy lines in the upper left. Beautiful.

Let's try that again.... denser, lower left, light and airy, upper right.
