6" x 3" Multi Media paper. Background created with Distress Oxide Pigments. Sea drawings was drawn with black micron pen. Colored with prismacolor pencils and pastel pencils. The pastel pencils worked easier than the prismacolor pencils. The pigment did not seem to like the wax in the prismacolor pencil. However, the pastel pencils took to the distress oxide pigment easily.

On August 11 - 13 I will be part of a Zentangle Workshop at Insight Awareness in Homewood, Illinois. The two botanical tiles above will be what I will be teaching that weekend. The first tile is a design by Alena Light and it was challenging because the design is a mandala without using a compose, you build the circular design as you draw it. I felt this was a beautiful piece and one that can be a challenge to learn. The secon botanical was inspired by Sharla Hicks, CZT. It drawn on a tan Zentangle tile and not only drawn with a black micron pen but also colored using a blue pastel pencil and a white chalk pencil. For more information, please contact me.

These tiles were done at the Valentine Workshop at the Frankfort Library on Feb 11th. There were others in attendance, however, I didn't catch them quick enough to get a photo of their tiles. The facilities were top notch at the library and the staff especially Jill Ganeshan were welcoming and kind. I am looking forward to doing another workshop at Frankfort Library in the future.
