Diva Challenge 169

This is a tile for the Diva Challenge.  This weeks challenge was to make a string of circles, then tangle.  I used a tan Renaissance tile, brown, black micron pen and white charcoal pencil.

Kiev Bouquet

My latest decorative art painting.  It is a Maureen McNaughton design, Kiev Bouquet.  I attended a Sandy Scales paint class where this piece was taught.  It is painted on a 14" x 14" squate tin plate.  I like Maureen McNaughton's style and paint many of her designs.  Currently I am painting a poppy on a round tin tray, to be posted when complete.

Tangle U Meditation Class

Tangle U 2014 Molly continued

This is the second tile Molly directed us to create.  She told us to draw a triangle on the tile not small, well we all went wild and big.  The results were unexpected.  This is a zia of the tangle Tripoli.  I will have to upload the pictures of the other tiles so you can see the spectaculiar results from all the different tiles creating with the same tangle.

Tangle U 2014 with Molly Hollibaugh

Molly Hollibaugh is the daughter of Maria Thomas, one of the founders of Zentangle.  Molly presented us with a Zentangle Meditation class that had an amazing ending.  She never gave us a specific name of a tangle pattern to draw, instead she gave us a description of a tangle and we proceeded to draw it in a section of the tile.  We all drew a "V" on the tile as our string, to divide the tile.  We proceeded drawing crescent moon, bales, pearls and purk.  They all turned out different, just amazing how we all drew the same patterns and the tiles turned out so different.

Tangle U 2014

Tangle U was a Zentangle event in Portland, Maine by Elaine Huffman.  The event was April 25 thru April 27th.  We had several teachers, some with national recognition like Suzanne McNeill, Beckah Krahula and Molly Hollibaugh.  The picture above is a note card.  Look closely and you will see a square opening.  The idea is to tangle a drawing inside the card and extend your design on the outside.
Here is a picture of the inside of the peek a boo card.  You can make the card with different cut outs.  I have seen a round and a heart.
