Postcard No. 7

I used the pattern Quandry and added the bricks to divide the original pattern.  I was trying to accomplish a look of large Quandy graduating into a smaller version set back in the distance.   I used pencil, pen, Irojiten colored pencil and Derwent Inktense color pencil.  The clarity of the pattern is not showing up on this photo very well.

Postcard No. 6

Postcard No. 6 was challenging.  The pattern is called Hemp by Ellen Wolter.  I watched her video on You Tube and made several attempts and finally settled for what is her.  It is drawn with pencil and ink, colored white, black and grays.

Postcard No. 5

Postcard No. 5 is completed.  The tangle patterns I used are Betweed and Hollibaugh.
I filled in the background with black ink to help it pop and used lots of shading to make te Betweed look tubular and the shading on the Hollibaugh gives the drawing depth.

Prismatic Daiseys from Mastering Twinks Part I

Lesson 3 from Dion Dior's Mastering Twinks Part I.  The lesson was to draw the daiseys and then draw lines through the flowers and around the page to create a prismatic background.  This was an excerise in color.  Although it was not so simple for me since I am trying to learn how to use these Twinks H2O watercolors.  I am use to acrylic painting and watercolor is very different.  I do feel like it was easier for me to control the water and pigment in this excerise.  You can click on the pictures to get a close up.

Postcard ATC No. 2 and No. 3

Postcard No. 2 completed.  I love this pattern, 'Nzeppel, and I draw this pattern often.  The background is just a filler of black and sepia colored lines to add some interest. The pattern was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.
Postcard No. 3 completed.  The pattern is called "Unspoken", it was inspired by the spokes in a bike wheel.  The pattern was created by Maria Thomas.  There is a version of unspoken in the book Rick and Maria published, "The Book of Zentangle".
